How to use our Internet Service to access web sites and email

Netcapade wants to provide you the best service possible. That is why we are providing you with a number to call during the day and an emergency line to call after business hours.

Problems connecting to the Internet
This number is to be called if you are experiencing any problems trying to connect to our service. This will notify us immediately that you may be experiencing trouble and we will check our equipment. If you still experience difficulty during our normal business hours please call 317-852-0613 x10 or x13 and leave a message and your call will be returned promptly. We hope this better serves you and thanks for choosing Netcapade.

Our after hour emergency # is – 317-985-3559. This is to be used for after hours only.

Set Up Instructions

Netcapade on Windows 95, 98, or ME

  1. Go to my computer, dial up networking, and click on make a new connection.
  2. Type in Netcapade in the name field, click next.
  3. Enter the phone number 317-852-3275, click next, then finish.
  4. Right click on the new Netcapade icon, go to properties, click on server types tab, uncheck all boxes except for TCP/IP, click okay and close out dial up networking.
  5. Go to the blue e (internet explorer), right click and go to properties.
  6. On the home page you may type www.netcapade.net, or your favorite website.
  7. Go to the connections tab and make sure Netcapade is the default connection and check box always dial my default connection, then click okay.

Netcapade on Windows XP

  1. Click on start, go to internet explorer, right click and go to internet properties.
  2. Put in home page address www.netcapade.net, or your favorite website.
  3. Click on the connections tab, go to add, make sure dial-up to private network is checked and click next.
  4. Type in phone number 852-3275, click next.
  5. The name for this connection is Netcapade, click finish.
  6. Make sure always dial my default connection is checked and click okay.

  • Outgoing Mail: smtp.netcapade.net (smtp)
  • Requires authentication (check box)

    (remember your username and password has to be all lower case with no spaces.)

How to use our Internet Service

Accessing Websites

To access websites, click on the blue e which is Internet explorer and is located on your desktop. You will see a username and password and a connect button, click connect. This will dial you in and verify your username and password. Then once you see the two monitors flashing off and on green down on the right hand bottom of the screen by the clock, you can start accessing websites. Our home page is www.netcapade.net and there are links to help you if you can’t find what website you are looking for. You will see an address bar and this is where you will type in a website address. Once you type in the address you may either click go or hit the enter key on your keyboard.

Accessing Email

If you are using our email service, above the address bar is an envelope you can click on to read mail and this will take you into the mail program, Outlook Express. Or you can access Outlook Express directly by clicking on the envelope on your desktop.

Once you’re in Outlook Express, all of your new messages will come into your inbox. You must click the send/receive button to receive or send any messages. If a message shows in your outbox, this means you have not clicked the send/receive button.

Setting up additional email addresses

If you need to set up more than 1 email address set up in Outlook Express:

Go to file, identities, add new identity, and follow the steps like you did for the first account. To access multiple accounts click, file switch identity and you can switch the users you created.

To access your email from another location from our website

If you have a .net email address go to netcapade.net and type in your username and password.

Remember if you delete messages off of this website we will not be able to retrieve them for you. These messages will be automatically loaded into your Outlook or Outlook Express once you check your mail on your PC if you haven’t deleted them off of the website.

This site also has filters that you can set for spam mail, vacation messaging, and change your background. These options are under styles and options on the site. The built in calendar also allows you to set events and receive emails when the events arise. This is a great feature!
